The Antente' are a culture devoted to beauty and entertainment. Unfortunately only the aristocracy has the time and money available to fully enjoy this way of life.

Society is highly stratified, with only a small chance of upward mobility. At the top are the nobility who are a hereditary class and who own the bulk of the land and money. There is a small middle class which is made up of civil servants, skilled artisans, athletes, artists and merchants. Members of the middle class can live quite comfortably, theirs is not a hereditary position. This simply means that the mayor of a small town will not pass this title on to his son. The bulk of the population is farmers, with craftsmen and small business owners making up the rest of the population.

The lower than normal IQ is more a representation of a lack of interest in intellectual pursuits than in a lack of brainpower. Since many important skills, such as architecture, are IQ based, those who are inclined towards such professions are well paid by the aristocracy.

Peasants have some upward mobility, since the aristocracy will reward exceptionally brave soldiers and will become the patron to promising artists or athletes. Exceptionally attractive people will also be brought to court simply to be appreciated for their looks.

Popular arts include music, dancing, painting and sculpting. Writing and poetry are not popular, though bawdy limericks are enjoyed by the lower classes. Theater is popular among the working class as long as it has singing and some slapstick comedy in it. Finely crafted furnishings and gardens are enjoyed and are treated as status symbols, thus ensuring that skilled craftsmen and gardeners will always have work.

Magic is looked on as any other craft, if it produces something attractive or that will help with court intrigue, it is coveted. Otherwise it is ignored as much as possible.

The landed aristocracies provide the mounted backbone of the armed forces, while the peasant militias that they raise provide the bulk.

The religion of Antent is a mirror of the society that worships her. At the top is Antent herself, distant and aloof. Beneath her are her courtiers who are more accessible. And finally are the heroes that the common folk look to for immediate help. The heroes are not very powerful, but they are much more likely to respond to everyday problems.

There is little or no sexual dimorphism amongst the Antente'. Both men and women are slimmer than normal for their height, which is figured normally for their ST. After determining height, figure weight normally and then subtract 10 lbs. Amongst the upper class, women are usually 5 - 10 lbs. lighter than above for aesthetic reasons.
