| 3,4 | Summon a chaotic creature from the underworld. The creature will attack the caster immediately and then seek to cause as much destruction as possible. Puissance cannot be reduced below zero. In addition, the spellcaster's spellcasting will be at a -2 penalty for 2d10 days. Result 10 also applies. | ||
Monsters are created by the "spilling" of magical energies into the ecosystem. Whenever a magical critical failure calls for the creation of a monster of a certain class, these energies have spilled into the ecosystem and a "monster" will be formed from an existing animal or plant. The choice of exactly which animal or plant is left to the GM's discretion, based on what would be most common in that area and using the general pattern of higher classes to larger creatures. The plant or animal involved need not be within sight of the casting place or even closer than several miles (generally no more than 1 mile per class).
Though most people do not know the difference, monsters are different from creatures created by chaos. Monsters are the result of the residual creation energy left over from the Creator's self-destruction. Chaotic creatures are the direct result of the warped creation energies of Enegala seeping onto the surface world and contaminating a willing or unwilling victim.
